Pastoral supervision

Pastoral supervision is a space for people to explore how they are operating in a particular role. It’s increasingly used by clergy and others in leadership roles in religious organisations.

Pastoral supervision has become more widespread as a way enabling a confidential space for people to think about their work. Sometimes particular issues arise — perhaps in people’s personal lives, in the context where they are working, or the broader system, but more often it’s helpful to think about how these come together. There’s a complex relationship between these and people’s faith and spirituality: pastoral supervision offers a way to sit with that complexity so that it can be a space for growth.
