Psychoanalysis engages with what lies outside our conscious thoughts. A psychoanalytic approach to psychotherapy is a way of deepening people’s understanding of themselves which helps in many aspects of our lives and relationships.
Although part of my background is in spirituality it is important that psychoanalytic work doesn’t make assumptions about people’s religious backgrounds. Freud had a complicated relationship with his Judaism and there are different views of how psychoanalysis and spirituality relate.
Some of my work with people seeking a psychoanalytic approach to therapy where there spirituality is part of what they seek to explore.
